Kaftans always create a sense of nostalgia thanks to awesome holidays in Goa and Sri Lanka. They’re comfortable, colourful and cheap, which makes them disposable as soon as I land in Dubai. For some reason, this summer has revived my love for all things bohemian, it was typically my look a few years ago and I find myself reaching out for maxi dresses and ethnic jewellery again.
I like the bold print and vivid colours of this dress, it makes it easy to dress up yet it’s comfortable and breezy enough for a day of errands on a humid day. The dress is attached to an inner slip that is a little too high at the neckline and takes away from the vneck of the dress, but no issues because it can be detached from the dress. The slits at the side ensure lots of swishing and show a little skin, and the fabric of the dress is pretty light weight.
I think I would dress this look up with a braided gold belt and big earrings, and I would ditch the boots for some strappy heels. While we’re on the subject of boots, I’m suddenly obsessed with them! It could just be the comfort factor, the Steve Madden ones I’m wearing here were a sale score (aed 120 at Mall of Emirates) and have survived endless strolling around the mall so just a little heads up, I will be living in them for the next few months.
Until next time x
