Inspired by Pinterest: Double Braided Headband

February 1, 2014

I’m always looking for new ways to deal with a bad hair day, hats look crap on me so I usually resort to an up do. The double braided headband is something I’ve been meaning to try for a while, it keeps my hair off my face and shows off my new red highlights too!

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product / bobby pins and bow from h & m / Davines More Inside Invisible No Gas Spray

I was dealing with third day curls so I definitely needed to start by combing out the tangles. A little water, a wide tooth comb, my trusty It’s a Miracle Leave in Spray and 10 minutes later, I’m ready to section my hair and begin. You can read my review on the Miracle spray here.

I’m using Davines More Inside Invisible No Gas Spray to smooth out frizz, flyaways and to hold my hair in place, especially at the ends since I have many layers in my hair. It’s a light weight hairspray with medium hold, the product sprays out in a very fine mist. If you hate the sticky and crunchy feeling of hair-sprays, as well as the smell, it’s worth checking out, especially if you use curling irons. It’s paraben- free and protects hair from humidity, the result is always soft hair that you can touch and brush without any icky stickiness or chemical smell.

If it’s a really bad hair day, I’ll just tie the rest of my hair in a bun or pony tail but if my hair is being cooperative, I think leaving it loose looks pretty boho chic.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think 🙂

  • OOOOH I love this! I’ve braiding my own hair since I was about six years old, and do it quickly and flawlessly, (I’m thinking of doing a youtube video tutorial, actually), but it IS an arm work out! LOL And it’s also a FANTASTIC for bad hair days! Especially in summer! It’s also a great option for when transitioning from straightening to natural curls, and/or if you are just growing your hair out and you don’t quite know what to do with your hair when it reaches dodgy lengths. Like when it’s not quite long or short, and the temptation to just get a haircut is at it’s greatest!!! 🙂

    • looking forward to your video! And I totally agree, braids are such a great alternative. I’ve never thought about the growing out your hair part!
