CND’s Vinylux Forbidden Collection for Fall 2013

December 12, 2013

If you have a friend who is obsessed with nail polishes, CND’s Vinylux Forbidden Collection is definitely worth looking into as a holiday gift. The collection has 6 dramatic Vinylux shades that supposedly dry within 8 1/2 minutes, I think they’re being a bit modest because my nails were dry within a minute. There’s no need for a base coat and they’re supposed to last for a week but in my experience, this is only possible if you use the Weekly Top Coat that comes with the collection. Using the polish alone resulted in chipping within just one day.

CND also offers a nail treatment called Solar Oil which is great for someone who has weak or brittle nails. I can’t rave enough about their hand & body lotions and hand wash soaps, they smell amazing and feel very luxurious. I always buy a set for me and a set for my parents house, they last for a while and are worth every penny!

CND Vinylux Forbidden Collection Fall 2013 (L-R) Weekly Top Coat, Steel Glaze, Tinted Love, Dark Dahlia, Night Glimmer, Blue Rapture and Burnt Romance

You will need two coats, with the exception of Blue Rapture and Burnt Romance. Burnt Romance is my least favourite because it looked a bit runny and you would need about three coats. Blue Rapture is very opaque, one coat was sufficient and it’s a beautiful bright shade.

My favourites are definitely the metallics, Steel Glaze and Night Glimmer. They’re beautiful shimmery shades that lasted the longest even without a top coat and apart from being perfect for the holiday season, I think they’re shades that will look gorgeous on any skin tone. They do look slightly similar but Steel Glaze is lighter and more silver based while Night Glimmer is more of a metallic charcoal grey.

This is what my nails look like after a week of application, there’s a little chipping on the ends but they’re still holding up pretty decent. I used Steel Glaze on the tips.

Priced at a mere Aed 51, it’s a pretty affordable option and you can always add more nail goodies for an awesome gift pack. CND’s Vinylux Forbidden Collection is available across all leading spas in the UAE and you can always contact Momentum Beauty Products on 04 3343823 for more information.
