Keeping it Casual

May 23, 2012

Peacocks blouse and cobalt blue jeans (they’re closing all their stores so everything was on sale), Rebel London shoes from Asos, Bag from Asos Marketplace, Rings from Miss Chatz

This is a typical work outfit for me, I’m lucky enough to be picky about working at places that require corporate clothing, I just couldn’t do that! It’s my idea of hell. I know, I’m a diva.

I just got back from a fabulous birthday holiday in Sri Lanka, I wanted to spend my birthday with elephants and I had such an amazing day, words can’t explain my happiness. I’ve always been in awe of elephants and now, I have so much more respect and love for them.  I miss Sri Lanka a lot, it is such a beautiful place. I’ll post pics soon so you can see what I mean by amazing! Bear with me while I get over my holiday blues, it’s back to the daily grind in Dubai.

If you’re in town on the 26th of May, you might want to check out this awesome charity event organized by the Rotaract Club of Jumeirah ( a volunteering service club). The event is a dance performance called ‘Dance my Community’  and it will be held at the American University in Dubai (AUD). It’s a great way for talented UAE dancers and performers to show off their moves and raise funds for the Palestine Red Crescent Society. It’s also a great way to build up your karma, plus you get to have fun while supporting a great cause 🙂 So get your tickets from Time Out and hopefully we’ll bump into each other there!

Have a beautiful day just because you deserve it!

  • anika

    which shop is closing down???

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE that blouse and those SHOES!!! I'd wear that to work, just with different bottoms. I just don't really wear that shade of blue for personal reasons (though it's a demon I need to battle, lol).

I can't WAIT to see your elephant pics!! I am still very eager to spend time with elephants too. They are one of my favourite animals. I've mentioned it quite a fair bit on my blog 😛

I LOVE everything about this outfit!! The accessories are perfect, the shoes, the color combination, it is casual but so well done! I want everything D: Specially the rings and earrings.

    You rock this outfit! 😀

I know what you mean about corporate wear.  I'm lucky that I don't have to do it either.  No way I could handle it.

Love this color combination; racking my brain to see if I have anything comparable so I can copy.

Glad you had a wonderful birthday in Sri Lanka.  Can't wait for pics!

  • I love Blue Jeans (non denim blues, that is :P) I had a pair from last year & mom both a pair that's very similar in shade to yours. I love this work look, I think it's tres chic.
Corporate dressing is fun as an experiment of sorts, but it I had to wear it everyday, it might as well be an orange jail jumpsuit.I loved your instagrams from Sri Lanka, girl! Glad to know you had a good time. I heart elephant too, I totally sat on a youngish one when we were in Bangkok & he was the best.

  • gorgeous outfit! The pants are fab! xx

  • lovelovefashion

oh i miss peacocks! they have been shut for ages here – i am loving the colours and the bag is quite delicious – i'm all for corporate clothing- i feel like its my bossy uniform, don't know why but i feel very mad men and sometimes quite intelligent! x looking forward to your pics, love you went to sri-lanka (sadly i know its somewhere, not to sure where though!gasp  my geography is beyond dreadful) x

  • That bag actually made me squeal with delight!

  • Stacey Cash

Oh my gosh, I love your bag! You look great.

  • The bag & the skull = ultimate LOVE! You look so great even dressed casually. I agree though, I think it would be very hard to work in a corporate clothing environment.

  • Love, love, love that bag!

  • Absolutely adore these colours together! Looks fab! x
